Can You Use Scotch Brite Green Scouring Pad As Filter Media

And then I've been looking all over the internet well-nigh using these dark-green scotch brite scouring pads as filter media. Some sites say they piece of work wonders some say that they are a death sentence when used as filter media. I want to use them in my aqua clear 110 HOB'due south as an actress added boost for bb to form. They practise have the white scotch brite lettering on them if that makes a difference however they don't take whatever chemicals on them equally far as I know... So am I able to use these equally filter media or should I stay away from them. I've already purchased them but oasis't put them in my HOB'south withal. I've also purchased round mesh scrubbies too in a iii pack can I use these ?? If both of the scotch brite scouring pads and the round mesh scrubbies are no proficient what other things can I add to my HOB'south to brand them more efficient and get max efficiency thanks to all replys in advance

Unless you lot know there are no chemicals I would be skeptical. I do recall reading something near this a while back, just if it was me I would stick to pot scrubbies. Those are tried and true, and quite frankly are probably cheaper.

You mean those round mesh plastic multicolored scrubbies ??? Because I have those they don't say anything virtually chemicals and they don't say not for aquariums while scotch brite pads practice say not for aquarium use I have already put the mesh scrubbies in thanks I was just wondering though

I think the scotch brite a have some kind of antimicrobial chemical in them.
The multi colored cheap pot scrubbies are the ones to become.

Ok that'south what I've only put in my HOB'southward (the multicolored scrubbies) sadly I've wasted $4 on the scotch brite scouring pads

Ive had the green scouring pads break down over time...it was a mess to get out of my systems and id never utilize em again. Id as well recommend scrubbies or something else.
